An Iowa father has been charged with child endangerment after police said he chained his son to a car bumper on Sunday.

Should have chained his leg.

The father, Richard Collins, 37, told authorities that he was trying to protect the teen. The incident happened in Davenport.

Collins said first confined his son who has one arm to his room, but when he started wrecking things and broke a window, Collins chained him to part of the car.

Collins was charged with child endangerment with bodily injury after police said chaining his son to the detached bumper from a 1979 Camaro. Collins said he came up with the idea after the 14-year-old ran away and was returned by police.

Collins and his brother James admit to wrapping a rusty chain around the teen’s ankle and chaining him to the bumper to prevent him from running away again.

“You know the old ball and chain routine that they done in the old days, well that’s what this was. Yeah, it may have been a little outrageous and out of control, but I was trying to protect him from people I don’t want him hanging around with,” said Collins.

ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. — A St. Johnsbury woman faces multiple sex charges after allegedly sending pornographic material involving animals to a teenage family member’s phone.

Police Say Woman Sent Pornographic Images Of Animals To Teen

Brenda Simard-Reid, 40, is accused of sending multiple pornographic images involving donkeys to the 13-year-old relative last May, according to court documents.

The victim’s guardian reported the alleged incident to the Department of Children and Families after seeing the images on the victim’s phone, according to court documents.

Simard-Reid pleaded not guilty to six counts of disseminating indecent material to a minor and appeared in court Monday morning to answer to the charges.

A former soldier pulled his own teeth out with a pair of pliers because he could not find a dentist to take on NHS patients.

13 teeth beat that!

Iraq War veteran Ian Boynton could not afford to go private for treatment so instead took the drastic action to remove 13 of his teeth that were giving him severe pain.

The 42-year-old, from Beverley, East Yorkshire, had not had his teeth looked at since seeing the army dentist in 2003. He had not been registered with a dentist of his own since 2001.

He said: ‘I’ve tried to get in at 30 dentists over the last eight years but have never been able to find one to take on NHS patients.’

But when Mr Boynton started suffering from toothache in 2006 he decided to take drastic action.

He said: ‘I started having pain in a front tooth, which protruded slightly more than the others. I was constantly fiddling with it and wiggling it because it hurt so much.

‘In the end I knew it had to come out and had to use the pliers to pull it.  Amazingly, it did not hurt as much as you might think.

‘I think I’d been prising it that much in the meantime that I’d been killing the nerve.’

In the last two years Mr Boynton has pulled out 13 top teeth including molars, incisors and canines. He now only has two teeth left in the roof of his mouth.

A Whangarei woman has been given a suspended sentence after admitting she bit the top of her neighbour’s finger off.

Beatrice knows what its like to have a finger chomped off.

Donna Gillie admitted a charge of assault in Whangarei District Court on Friday following the confrontation with neighbour Beatrice Manumua.

The confrontation was sparked when Gillie asked if she could use Ms Manumua’s lawnmower in February this year.

Ms Manumua, who had been drinking, refused and hit Gillie because she wouldn’t leave.

Gillie then bit the top of her little finger off.

“My finger was jagged and yucky looking. She bit it off and just spat it out on the grass. Blood was pouring out everywhere,” Ms Manumua told the Northern Advocate.

Ms Manumua turned down an option to have the tip sewn back on, saying it was already turning black, opting to have it amputated at the next knuckle. She said it still hurts when knocked.

A 25-year-old mother of two was allegedly gangraped before being burnt alive for having spurned a man who wanted to marry her, police said on Tuesday.

The victim was raped by four men, including three brothers distantly related to her, at her Adarsh Gharkul building residence in Antop Hill locality of central Mumbai on Monday and then set ablaze. She succumbed to burn injuries at a city hospital early on Tuesday morning during treatment.

The accused, identified as Rajesh Devendra (30), Kumar Devendra (28), Nitya Devendra (25)– (all three are brothers) –and their friend Shankar Mudaliyar (35) have been arrested.

Though the police said the exact motive behind the cruel act was being investigated, a relative alleged she was killed as the family had rejected Nitya Devendra’s proposal to marry her a few years ago.

“Nitya wanted to marry her, but we rejected the proposal for some reasons,” said Krishna Reddy, a relative of the deceased.

Police said the victim was alone when the desperadoes forced their way into her house. “According to the victim’s dying declaration, the four raped her one by one. When she told them that she will lodge a police complaint, they set her on fire after pouring kerosene,” said senior inspector D N Deokar of Antop Hill police station.

The victim’s husband Raju Devendra, who works as a sweeper in civic body office in suburban Chembur, and her two children — a three-year-old daughter and an infant son — were not present in the house when the incident occurred, Deokar said.

If animals could talk, a few cows in Burlington County might ask state legislators to hurry up and outlaw bestiality.

During a bizarre hearing there yesterday, a Superior Court judge dismissed animal-cruelty charges against a Moorestown police officer accused of sticking his penis into the mouths of five calves in rural Southampton in 2006, claiming a grand jury couldn’t infer whether the cows had been “tormented” or “puzzled” by the situation or even irritated that they’d been duped out of a meal.

“If the cow had the cognitive ability to form thought and speak, would it say, ‘Where’s the milk? I’m not getting any milk,’ ” Judge James J. Morley asked.

Children, Morley said, seemed “comforted” when given pacifiers, but there’s no way to know what bovine minds thought of Robert Melia Jr. substituting his member for a cow’s teat.

“They [children] enjoy the act of suckling,” the judge said. “Cows may be of a different disposition.”

Burlington County Assistant County Prosecutor Kevin Morgan was certainly irritated by the ruling, claiming the grand jury didn’t see the videos of the alleged incident, including one in which one hungry calf allegedly head-butts Melia in the stomach.

“I think any reasonable juror could infer that a man’s penis in the mouth of a calf is torment,” Morgan argued. “It’s a crime against nature.”

Although a bill was introduced in 2005 to ban bestiality, New Jersey still has no explicit ban on the sexual penetration of animals, which is why the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office charged Melia with animal cruelty.

A 22-month-old boy choked on a used condom in the Homewood Suites in Mount Laurel, N.J., according to a lawsuit filed by the little boy’s family.

The Wolfe family of Pittsburgh, Mass. was headed home after spending the holidays in Florida and they stayed overnight in the Burlington County hotel.

The morning of their departure, the toddler apparently found a used condom in the room, left behind by previous travelers, according to the lawsuit.

The child’s mother, Amy, heard her little boy chewing and choking on the condom and tried to get it out of his mouth, but he had already “ingested the contents ” the lawsuit stated.

The Philadelphia Daily News noted the suit contends a “life threatening” item was left in the room, which put the boy at risk of getting a “sexually transmitted disease, including HIV or AIDS, or some other, potentially life threatening, potentially fatal illness.”

A Toronto man must continue to pay child support despite a DNA test proving he is not the biological father of his ex-wife’s children, a judge ruled.

Pasqualino Cornelio, who believed he fathered the 16-year-old twins after being given “incomplete and misleading information” by his ex-wife, will also not be reimbursed for previous child support payments.

“While the failure of (Anciolina) Cornelio to disclose to her husband the fact that she had an extramarital affair and that the twins might not be his biological children may well have been a moral wrong against Mr. Cornelio, it is a wrong that does not afford him a legal remedy to recover child support he has already paid, and that does not permit him to stop paying child support,”Ontario Superior Court Justice Katherine van Rensburg wrote in her decision.

said during the trial that she did not know the identity of the twins’ father, blaming her lapse in memory on medication she was taking at the time.

Van Rensburg said her judgment was made in the best interests of the children and based on earlier precedent.

A Port St. Lucie man was arrested and charged with neglect of an elderly person after his 90-year-old mother was found emaciated and in urine-soaked clothes, an arrest affidavit released Sunday said.

Robert M. Rozenti, 68, of the 2000 block of Southeast Franciscan Street, was the sole provider for his mother and told police that he was appointed his mother’s power of attorney in 2006, the report said.

Early Saturday, the victim, Anna Chuboff was transported to Columbia Hospital after falling at the residence. Police were called to the hospital after the paramedics found her “unwashed, wearing clothing soaked in urine, severely underweight and emaciated,” the report said.

Police also noted that the shoes the victim had been wearing had not been removed for a long period of time and had “grown into her feet,” the report said. Her toenails had taken the shape of her shoes, police said in the report.

Chuboff told investigators that her son was “abusive to her verbally” but never hit her, the report said. She told police that she had not received medical attention for some time despite being diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure, the report states. At the time of questioning, she could not remember if she ate that day. Chuboff told police that she could not remember the last time she bathed and she routinely soils her clothing, the report said.

I’m glad to have learned this important lesson. Next time I have a heart attack, I will be sure to tidy up the house before I call the ambulance.

Ambulance controllers overheard a private conversation between the crew members in which they supposedly made disparaging remarks about the victim’s untidy home, allegedly failed to attempt to resuscitate him, and then apparently decided to claim he was already dead when they arrived.

Barry Baker, 59, dialled 999 from his home in Patcham, near Brighton in the early hours of November 29 and said that he was suffering from severe chest pains.

Controllers sent a paramedic and ambulance technician immediately, and although Mr Baker collapsed while talking on the phone, the line to the control centre was left open as he lay on the floor.

Minutes later the control staff heard the crew enter the house. A police source said: “What they heard after their ambulance crew arrived frankly astonished them.

“Apparently their first reaction was to comment on the untidy and unkempt state of the house. Then they are heard to comment on seeing Mr Baker and allegedly saying that it was not worth bothering to try to carry out resuscitation to try to save him. They then are heard discussing what to tell ambulance control and allegedly decide to say that he was already dead when they arrived.

“Obviously the crew did not realise that the phone was still connected and, of course, the 999 call was all recorded on tape,” said the source.

The unnamed ambulance staff were arrested after the tape was handed to the Sussex Police Major Crime Team.

They have been suspended from duty and a file has been passed to the Crown Prosecution Service to consider prosecuting the pair for wilfully neglecting to perform a duty in public office.
